Can You Dance?, the UK's leading Dance Convention, is bringing K-pop Dance to its flagship event for the first time. Working closely with South Korean Choreographer, Jay Kim, CYD? will be hosting two unforgettable K-pop dance classes this October.

Get ready to ride the Hallyu Wave! For the first time ever, CYD? are hosting two K-pop dance classes at the CYD? Super Convention in Liverpool. The classes, consisting of one beginner and one intermediate class, will be taught by renowned South Korean Choreographer Jay Kim who has worked with the likes of American Rapper and Singer-Songwriter Jay Park and Chinese Singer and Actor Lu Han (former member of the boy-group EXO).
The noticeable global impact of Korean culture and K-pop dance has not gone unnoticed by CYD? who are known for their innovative dance conventions which are consistently elevated by introducing new, culturally vibrant dance styles.
CYD? Co Founder Tom Shilcock, said: "Exploring global styles like K-pop keeps our event fresh. It opens dancers' eyes to new influences, connects them with international trends, and celebrates the diversity that makes dance so exciting."
Taking place at 10:00 AM on Sunday 12th October, Jay Kim's Senior (14+ years) class will take you on a trainee journey to level up with K-pop choreography that builds execution, sharpens technique, and pushes your performance. Perfect for dancers with intermediate experience or above or for anyone ready to challenge themselves and grow through hands-on learning.
Jay Kim's beginner-friendly, Junior (8-13 years) class will teach you fun and easy K-pop choreography to songs by global K-pop stars like BTS and BLACKPINK. If you love K-pop and want to dance with energy and excitement, this is the perfect class for you. This class will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Sunday 12th October.
Both classes will run for 45 minutes. Following these classes there will be opportunities to receive exclusive dance awards, including free entry to future CYD? events.
Class tickets cost £8.00 and can only be purchased with a separate entry ticket. Once dancers have purchased a Super Convention entry ticket they will be granted access to CYD?'s array of masterclasses in various styles taught by a line up of world-renowned faculty.
Dancers will also be able to watch the incredible Main Stage Showcase and Competition as well as enter the epic exhibition where they will have the opportunity to explore over 100 global dance brands, liaise with dance colleges, and experience Instagram-worthy social pop up's and exclusive giveaways.
Now in its sixth year, the CYD? Super Convention is an international dance event which is set to take place at The ECL & ACC in Liverpool this October 11th and 12th.
